- Bayview Opera House – The cultural center of Bayview, the Bayview Opera House was opened in 1888 and is said to be the oldest existing theater of its kind in San Francisco. Recognizable for its distinct Italianate architecture, the Bayview Opera House serves as a venue for art and family events, as well as concerts, theater productions, and community celebrations.
- The Black Cuisine Festival – Dubbed as the biggest celebration of soul food in San Francisco, the Black Cuisine Festival held its 37th year in 2017. Aside from generous servings of good-to-the-bone soul food, the festival features live music and entertainment, a cooking contest, and kids’ activities.
- Radio Africa & Kitchen – enjoy the cuisine of North Africa and the Mediterranean
- Frisco Fried serves delicious soul food such as fried chicken, Mac and Cheese, catfish and pork chops.
- India Basin Shoreline Park – A former industrial area, the beautiful India Basin Park is back to its original form – a wetland. India Basic features a tidal salt marsh and is a habitat for shorebirds and raptors. People visit India Basin for bird-watching and kayaking and to enjoy breathtaking views of the Bay area. The Bay Area Ridge Trail can also be accessed from here.
- The EcoCenter at Heron’s Head Park – The first 100 percent “off-the-grid” building in San Francisco, the EcoCenter is the place to go to learn about sustainable living and environmental education. It is located at Heron’s Head Park, a favorite among bird-watchers in the city.
